About

My name is Michelle DeLong. I am a Christian wife and mother of twins, dairy farmer, nature lover, avid reader, author, illustrator, artist, horseback rider and lover of learning. I am a gardener, orchardist, wild forager and homesteader. I am always striving to learn how to become more self-sufficient and how to keep my family healthy. This has led me on an adventure back to my roots.

I have a vision of helping other women of God to get back to their roots as well. Titus 2 describes women who equip, train, and mentor one another. The Proverbs 31 woman that we, as Christian women, are supposed to strive for seems impossible but women in biblical times did not do all these things by themselves. They had a community to help.

Homesteading has become a bit of a fad in modern times but its origin, and what we should really strive for, is a community of like-minded people helping one another and encouraging one another.

I started this blog to foster those relationships and connections so that we can all grow, share knowledge, help and encourage each other as we are meant to. I will share my life with you – my faith, motherhood, homesteading, farming, gardening, harvesting, food preservation, wild foraging, home remedies, homeschooling, old skills that have been lost with the times and more.

Please join me on this adventure!
